No problem !!

Unfortunately, Bete Noir & Project Lorraine can only appeal to a niche audience. Many will not touch any Vampire tale, even with the proverbial silver-plated barge-pole. Others will shun mine as non-canon.

I could not write about 'canon' Vamps like Buffy / Van Helsing / Kate_B etc, I cannot relate to their fantastic transmogrifications, The Converting Bite etc etc.

After reading some thrilling Vamp tales on another board, I wondered if there was any way to reconcile Vamps with reality.

Okay, a Porphyria variant was a good start-- That made them Obligate NightWalkers.

I could allow them a form of Glamour, as charismatic speakers, hypnotists and con-artists seem to manage it. I don't know if 'invisible' Ninjas qualify...

A Bite implies venom-- Well, if that included psycho-active components, designed to pacify / semi-immobilise prey, victims might be convinced of almost anything...

Another point: If the psycho-actives inhibit time-binding, strange things happen. A victim taken 'UnderHill' to be Tapped repeatedly rather than kill-drained might never realise he/she had been gone for years. Upon release, he/she would be un-weathered, un-stooped, still youthful in appearance, unlike the kin aged by decades of farm-work. Of course, going outside with pale skin may cause terrible sun-burn etc, while a few years outside would rapidly return some-one to the usual condition for that age...

D'uh, I've just identified the legendary Sidhe as Vamps !!
